"No-one would have believed in the early years of the twentieth century that this world was being watched…”
But we did believe. We do believe. And now the end of the world is being broadcast live.
Rhum and Clay explore our collective inability to separate fact from fiction via Orson Welles’ classic radio play, the granddaddy of all ‘fake news’.

Vacancies: Trustees Wanted
Potential Trustees invited to join a dynamic Board.
The award-winning physical theatre company, Rhum and Clay, is actively seeking Trustees for its Board.
Rhum and Clay’s origins lie at L’École Jacques Lecoq in Paris in 2010, where its two co-Artistic Directors Matthew Wells and Julian Spooner met as students. The company’s work is, as you’d expect with that pedigree, always physically ingenious and skilful but, in the tradition of Lecoq’s commitment to reinvention and to discovering truthfulness through play. We work as an ensemble and find a style that best suits the subject matter at hand, finding a dynamic relationship between form and content. The integrity and creativity of the process is crucial, and projects are devised in a thoroughly collegiate manner, with the complete creative team in the room.
Rhum and Clay has toured successfully in the UK and internationally for nearly a decade at the small scale. With our critically acclaimed production of The War of The Worlds we are now embarking on an ambitious, mid-scale journey, beginning with a 12-week tour of major venues in Spring 2020. We are keen to recruit Trustees to help us with this exciting new stage of the company's development.
Please note that Trustee roles are unremunerated, voluntary positions.
Rhum and Clay is committed to equality of opportunity and values diversity. We seek people from a wide range of backgrounds, who will bring a fresh perspective to the Board and having reviewed our existing Trustees diversity, skills and experience, we are keen for our Board to reflect better the diversity of the communities for and with whom we make work. We therefore welcome applications from all sections of the community.
In particular, we are also seeking individuals with a specialised knowledge either of the financial systems and practices of charities or of participatory and engagement activities in relation to arts organisations.
Please contact Matthew Wells, Co-Artistic Director of Rhum and Clay for further information at firstname.lastname@example.org
